On the brilliantly frenzied “Stutter”, Washington, D.C. art-rockers Deleted Scenes do way more than simply start and stop. It’s a challenging four-minute composite of sound, complete with unnerving vocals that morph from ominous growl to pained yelp in mere seconds and guitars that wail on in antagonizing dissonance. “Wake yourself up again!” they shout during a tangled and noisy spurt. Something tells me that between the band’s unbridled energy and sheer disregard for sonic boundaries (volume, structure, etc.), you’re unlikely to doze off during this one. Listen in below.

“Stutter” is off Deleted Scenes’ new record, Lithium Burn, due out February 11th through Park The Van/Nevado.
