Take one listen to Leeds’ own Eagulls and you’ll know they bare no resemblance at all to Don Henley’s soft-rock collective. Instead, this five-piece play spunky post-punk spiked with gutsy vigor and anthemic punch, sourced from their time spent as working class stockboys in a post-industrial city. “Tough Luck”, the blitzing lead single of their forthcoming self-titled debut LP, is living proof of that life. Urgent and disgruntled, it embodies the push-pull struggle of want and defeat. Tune in below.
Eagulls the album is due out March 4th via Partisan Records. While you wait, read our recent CoS quiz with the band and get to know them better.
