Eminem’s childhood home in Detroit — infamous for its presence on the album covers for The Marshall Mathers LP and its sequel — was demolished last week. According to MLive, officials at Michigan Land Bank, which owned the property, deemed it to be “structurally unsafe” following a fire earlier this month.
Prior to the fire, the house went for auction on eBay. MLive adds that the owner received more than 120 bids, including one from an Eminem fan who wanted to turn the house into a museum. Eminem opted out of bidding on the property, and also declined comment on the demolition.
