Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, returns today with “Melrose”, another taste of his forthcoming sophomore album, Because the Internet. Starting out with a slow, sauntering piano, the track soon shifts into a lush, slightly uptempo ballad, as Gambino eschews his recent wellspring of emotional revelations for rich falsetto vocals and gentle romanticism. Listen in below (via Miss Info).

The track was revealed in a tweet to pop singer Jhené Aiko, with whom Gambino recently worked with on the single “Bed Peace”. The two have been linked romantically, but have said their relationship is not sexual.

Because the Internet is reportedly due out December 10th. For more of Gambino’s recent sounds, be sure to check out “Worldstar”, “3005”, and “Yaphet Kotto (freestyle)”.
