Listen: Quilt’s hazy new psych-pop song, “Tired and Buttered”

Quilt_band

On January 28th, Boston art-folk trio Quilt will drop their sophomore album, Held in Splendor, through Mexican Summer. The 13-track effort follows last year’s self-titled debut and was produced by Woods member Jarvis Taveniere. They previously took a dip with the chilly lead single “Arctic Shark”; now, they lead a trippy episode of dance and fire on “Tired and Buttered”.

A tumbling and free-spirited psych-pop number, it’s quick to change its mood and pace — a blurry blitz one minute, a soft-hued and mellow stroll the next. “Maybe we’ll dance at the break of night, greet the future with a generous smile,” they dream on imaginatively, basking in the day-glow. Listen in below.
