Following June’s Other Voices EP and September’s Who Needs You EP, Chicago’s The Orwells return today with a new one-off single. Even without the steady hand of producer Dave Sitek, “Dirty Sheets” continues the band’s recent run of sonic maturation and increasing cohesiveness. Though the track maintains their grimy roots, the anthemic scope, precision interplay between the sweltering guitars and concussive drums, and pronounced ’70s influence demonstrate the lads’ development as a tight-knit, intensely rocking unit. Listen in below.
“Dirty Sheets” will be available as a 7″ single this January via Atlantic.
