Fred Armisen, under his many different personas, has worked with a number of venerable rock acts, including The Clash, Queens of the Stone Age, Jack White, and Yo La Tengo. Last Friday night at the Berklee School of Music, the Portlandia star teamed up with two past collaborators, Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis and Sixpence None the Richer’s Leigh Nash, for a performance of TLC’s “Waterfalls”. Weirdly enough, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Armisen cover the R&B hit, but that doesn’t make it any less cool or totally worth watching — I mean, they even pull off the raps pretty well!
