CHVRCHES found themselves in the top 10 of both our Top Songs and Top Albums of the Year lists thanks to The Bones Of What You Believe. But besides their own music, the Scottish trio have turned in an impressive array of covers this year, including Whitney Houston’s “It’s Not Right But It’s Okay”, HAIM’s “Falling”, and the theme song to Game of Thrones. Singer Lauren Mayberry even took on Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name”.
As Stereogum points out, CHVRCHES recently added to their repertoire during a stop at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge. After donning their finest Santa hats and awkwardly pointing to the corner of the screen, the band took on British boy group East 17’s highest charting single, 1994’s “Stay Another Day”. Watch the performance below.
