Listen: Sampha debuts “Courtesy” during BBC live session

Over the last few months, Sampha has been rather steadily dropping new music, including his debut solo EP Dual, a split single with The xx, and his recent double A-sided 7-inch featuring “Too Much” b/w “Happens”. Yesterday, the R&B crooner continued his streak by debuting a brand new song during a live session with BBC Radio 1’s Benji B.

Entitled “Courtesy”, it’s a ballad that shines a little brighter than most of his recent material, brimming with the kind of unassuming warmth and quaint romanticism reminiscent of mid-’70s Stevie Wonder. Catch the replay below (“Courtesy” begins at the 19:53 mark).

Sampha BBC Session Setlist:
Happens (4:32)
Can’t Get Close (10:12)
Courtesy (19:53)
Too Much (24:51)

Sampha also stopped by the studio of Huw Stephens, where he chatted with the host and performed “Beneath This Tree”, “Too Much”, and “Happens”.
