Is Drake responding to Kendrick Lamar in Future’s remix of “Sh!t”?

Though their relationship hit a brief rough patch, Future and Drake were able to make peace and eventually hit the road for the “Would You Like A Tour?”. With the tour concluding tomorrow night, the duo extend their partnership with a new remix of Future’s “Shi!t”.

As Future’s role has been reduced to providing the chorus/random shouts, the actual meat of the track is comprised of extended verses from Drake and Juicy J. For his part, Drake seems to take several shots at an unspecified MC (“I hear you talking about your city like you run there, then I brought my tour to your city, you my son there / I had to come through for the remix”). Is Drake just re-engaging his lyrical rivalry with Kendrick Lamar? Or, given the history with Future, who was originally booted off the tour for several comments, is the reference a slight reminder of the pecking order? Mull over those questions as you listen in below.

The “Sh!t” remix is part of DJ Esco’s No Sleep Mixtape. There’s also plans for further remixes of the track, as producer Mike WiLL Made It mentioned he’s also got verses from ScHoolboy Q, Jeezy, T.I., and Pastor Troy.
