With their gig in Antarctica earlier this month, Metallica simultaneously became the second band ever to play the frozen land mass and the first band to play all seven continents in one year. Now, the frosty metal legends have made the historic concert available as a live album download punningly entitled Freeze ‘Em All.
Members of the band’s LiveMetallica.com website can purchase the album in a variety of digital formats with prices ranging from $7.95 (MP3) to FLAC or ALAC-HD ($12.95). To compliment the download, original album artwork and even a CD label are also available, including that hardcore penguin up above.
Metallica performed the show as part of promotion with Coca-Cola. Fans had to win there way onto Carlini Argentine Base, where the band performed in a dome sans amps. Attendees wore headphones to listen in, so essentially you’re getting the same audio experience without having to buy a really expensive L.L. Bean coat. You don’t even have to miss out on the visuals; watch the full concert video underneath the Freeze ‘Em All tracklist.
