The success of TNGHT’s debut EP — including smash singles like “Goooo”, “R U Ready”, and “Higher Ground” — propelled Hudson Mohawke and Lunice into producer stardom. Both men parlayed the success into an invitation to collaborate on Kanye West’s Yeezus and later signed separate publishing deals with Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music. Mohawke also contributed to Drake’s Nothing Was the Same, Pusha T’s My Name Is My Name, and the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto 5, while Lunice has worked with Skrillex and Rockie Fresh.
Now, it seems both producers will continue at it solo for the foreseeable future. According to FACT, LuckyMe Records has confirmed that the TNGHT project is “being wrapped up for the time being” as Mohawke and Lunice focus on their own solo projects.
Rumors of TNGHT’s hiatus surfaced with the release of a new video titled “Waning Moon,” which sees the duo thank an audience at the end of a live show. Soon after, TNGHT’s Facebook page was updated with a banner that reads “Until Next Time” and the duo’s moon logo has been covered with clouds.
