From releasing one of the year’s best albums to touring alongside Kendrick Lamar and Eminem to collaborating with Justin Bieber and Childish Gambino, Chance the Rapper has gone from mere up-and-comer to major league hip-hop star in less than 10 months. While Chicago’s got a new class of hungry, talented emcees looking for their own big Chance-style break, Chance continued his banner year last night, making his late night TV debut on The Arsenio Hall Show. And boy, did he revel in the spotlight, offering a spirited rendition of “Chain Smoker”, backed with a full band and horn section. He also sat down on the couch and spoke to Arsenio about Chicago hip-hop, his lyrics, and his aspiration to create a union for rappers. Replay the whole thing below.
