Listen: Death Vessel’s magical new song, “Mercury Dime”

Back in November, Death Vessel were joined by Jónsi for their elegant single “Isla Drown”. On their latest track, “Mercury Dime”, Joel Thibodeau and Co. are without the Sigur Rós frontman, but still manage to take their wide-eyed folk to surprisingly majestic heights. Could the Icelander’s influence have been contagious? Or maybe Rhode Island’s got its own secret set of wondrous and inspiring glacial scenery? Either way, I’ll be damned if the chorus here doesn’t evoke a certain sense of chilly bliss. Listen in below (via Stereogum).

Both “Isla Drown” and “Mercury Dime” are off Death Vessel’s forthcoming album, Island Intervals, due out on February 25th via Sub Pop.
