Tree, Chicago’s self-proclaimed “soul-trap” emcee, will drop his new EP, The @MCTreeG, on January 21st via Scion AV. The seven-track collection follows last year’s guest-heavy mixtape Sunday School II: When Church Lets Out, and is previewed today with “Like Whoa”.
A slick and bumpin’ number, it finds Tree laying out his game plan for rising through the ranks, “First you gotta grind, then you let ’em know / When they see you shine, everybody be like whoa.” Come for the hip-hop advice, stay for his swaggering and hoarse holler, “Like whoa!
