In Photos: Sweetlife Festival 2014

Gorgeous shots of Foster the People, Lana Del Rey, Chromeo, and more.

Over the past week, I talked to quite a few people in Washington, D.C. who didn’t think that the lineup for this year’s Sweetlife Festival was great by any means. In fact, a few called it a bullshit overpriced salad festival with a 2012 lineup. They’re not too out there with that assessment, either.

For those who don’t know, Sweetlife is a music and food festival put on by Sweetgreen, an organic farm-to-table salad shop founded by Georgetown University graduates. The festival started in 2010 in a D.C. parking lot with 500 people and has now blossomed into an annual festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, with over 20,000 attendees.

Truth: Every festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion seems to draw the rain. This year was no different. As the skies continued to shower the area, attendees gathered underneath all of the trees at the Treehouse Stage for Spirit Animal, ASTR, St. Lucia, Capital Cities, 2 Chainz, and Chromeo or headed to the pavilion for the big names like Foster the People, Lana Del Ray, and Fitz & the Tantrums.

No mudslides as in previous years, but it certainly held enough adventure. Missed out? Check out the photos below from the dry confines of your home, office, or wherever you’re surfing from. And if you’re feeling nostalgic already and reliving the sets, feel free to share your mini-reviews below.
