Carter V Season rolls onward as Lil Wayne returns with a second new track, entitled “D’usse”. If you’re not familiar, D’usse is the name of Jay Z’s brand of cognac; more than just helping Hov to move units, Weezy (or as he refers to himself, “Weezy Chung”) offers a touching shout-out to the Roc Nation mogul.

From there, Wayne lends further props to both Lil Twist and God, makes a reference to “Billie Jean”, confesses his love for hot sauce, and generally tears it up on the mic with a manic, rapid-fire flow (“Let ’em get a lil buzz/Then we robbin’ for pollen/We ain’t killin’ no manners/You niggas still in the minus”). It’s a little jokey at times, but it definitely builds on the momentum he had re-established with the Drake-aided “Believe Me”.
