Listen: Ryn Weaver’s new song “OctaHate”

Ryn Weaver might not be a name you recognize, but that’s likely about to change in the coming weeks. The New York-based singer made a splash on the Web this week, thanks to tweets from the likes of pop queens Charli XCX and Jessie Ware. As her glimmering debut single “OctaHate” immediately proves, Weaver’s music is worth all that early praise.

Co-written by Charli, produced by Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos, with help from Cashmere Cat and Benny Blanco (who recently had a hand in Ware’s latest gem “Tough Love”), “OctaHate” is as catchy as a pop number can possibly hope to be. Between the twinkling xylophones, airtight melodies, and frothy beats, Weaver already sounds radio-ready, just in time for summer.
