After seven seasons (the first four of which were flawless), FX’s flagship show Sons of Anarchy will take its final ride into the sunset later this year. To help close out the series, producers have lined up two famous rock stars to make sizable guest appearances. Last month, it was announced that Marilyn Manson would play the role of a “powerful” white supremacist leader. Now, as TVLine points out, one Courtney Love has been cast as a pre-school teacher. I kid you not, dearest readers.
Making her dramatic television debut, Love will be involved in a “pivotal, multi-episode arc” as Ms. Harrison, the “straight-shooting preschool teacher of Jax’s eldest son, Abel.” According to E!, Love’s character will take a special interest in Abel, potentially putting her into a direct feud with Abel’s mother, Wendy (newly-minted series regular Drea de Matteo). Season seven of Sons of Anarchy premieres sometime this fall, with Love’s character set to debut in episode four.
The role of a preschool teacher may be a stretch for Love, given our perception of her as something of a loud-mouth with a hair-trigger temper. Still, Love’s no acting slouch: she snagged a Golden Globe nomination for 1996’s The People vs. Larry Flynt, plus had well-received performances in both Man on the Moon and the Kiefer Sutherland drama Beat.
