Over its 10-year existence, Bestival has consistently been lauded as one of the UK’s premier music festivals, earning the award for Best Major Festival at the UK Festival Awards in 2010 and 2012. In an exciting development, Bestival founder Rob Da Bank has revealed plans to expand the festival to America and Europe.

According to The Telegraph, Bestival has signed a distribution deal to launch an offshoot of the festival in America and other territories across Europe. “The deal has been a long time coming,” Rob Da Blank explained. “I’ve never been in this industry for the money but now I’m 40 with three small kids, it’s time to get business minded.”

Rob Da Bank kept mum on any specifics, but a formal announcement is expected next week.

Meanwhile, this year’s Bestival is set to take place at the Isle of Wight during the weekend of September 4th – 7th. The lineup boasts OutKast, Beck, Disclosure, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Basement Jaxx, London Grammar, Sam Smith, Jenny Lewis, La Roux, Wild Beasts, and many more.
