Record Store Day’s unlikely little sister Cassette Store Day is returning for another installment this year on September 27th. Like last year, the “holiday” has scored quite an impressive list of exclusives considering the “outdated” mode of audio distribution.
Amongst the releases are cassette versions of new albums from Julian Casablancas + The Voidz (Tyranny), Foxygen (…And Star Power), and Karen O (Crush Songs), along with Best Coast’s Fade Away EP, Cloud Nothings’ latest Here and Nowhere Else, plus reissues of J Dilla’s classic Donuts and Madvillain’s Madvillainy. There will also be tapes from White Lung, Vivian Girls, Mutual Benefit, Dntel, They Might Be Giants, Typhoon, PUJOL, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and The Gaslight Anthem.
