After watching Rick Rubin take a bath in a tub of freezing water, Foo Fighters brilliantly spoof Carrie, and Liam Gallagher be, well, the best Liam Gallagher he can be, I assumed I had seen the best the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge had to offer. But then came along David Lynch.
If the legendary filmmaker doesn’t earn a trophy with his magnificent/confusing/hilarious contribution, at the very least I deem him overlord of the blatantly weird-as-fuck Ice Bucket Challenge category. I don’t care if that doesn’t exist yet; we’re starting it for him right now.
Where do I even begin, people? Try to wrap your head around this: Lynch is doused in iced coffee (??) while playing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” (??) on the trumpet (??). He’s then drenched a second time by a normal bucket of water, and, just when you think he has begun to normalize, he goes and nominates … Well, I don’t want to ruin all the surprises for you.
