Pharrell did a great job curating the soundtrack to NBA 2K15

Fun fact: I’m an avid player of NBA 2K14. To date, I’ve started well over 200 games in Career Mode as Alex Young, a 6’6″ point guard for the Sacramento Kings and reigning league MVP. (Hey, a guy can dream!) Thus, I can attest to the importance of the game’s soundtrack and how “high power,” bass-driven music really is the secret to success.

Fortunately, the soundtrack to NBA 2K15 is quite impressive, due in large part to Pharrell Williams, who served as its curator. As revealed today, the tracklist includes the likes of Lorde (“Team”), The Strokes (“Under Cover of Darkness”), The Rapture (“House of Jealous Lovers”), A Tribe Called Quest (“Scenario”), Depeche Mode (“Personal Jesus”), and Clipse (“Grindin'”). As to be expected, also included are a whole bunch of Pharrell songs, such as “How Does It Feel?”, “Can I Have It Like That”, and his collaboration with Major Lazer, “Aerosol Can”.

You can see the full tracklist below and listen to a stream of the soundtrack on Spotify. The game — featuring future Washington Wizard Kevin Durant on the cover — arrives October 7th.
