El-P and Killer Mike, tka Run the Jewels, have confirmed a release date for the follow-up to their excellent self-titled debut. Aptly titled RTJ2, the duo’s sophomore LP will arrive on October 28th through Nas’ new imprint, Mass Appeal.

As previously reported, RTJ2 will feature contributions from Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack De La Rocha and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

To coincide with today’s announcement, Run the Jewels have let loose the full-length version of “Blockbuster Night Part 1″. In his initial review of the track, our Chris Coplan wrote, “it’s a continuation of what made the 25th best album of 2013 so entertaining, namely El-P’s brooding, minimalist production, the dynamic back-and-forth interplay, and cutting wordplay (a gold star to Mike for rhyming ‘cuckoo’ with ‘buku’).”

Run the Jewels have a trio of upcoming festival appearances scheduled. A full-fledged North American tour will be announced shortly.

Run the Jewels 2014 Tour Dates:
08/22 – Denver, CO @ Mad Decent Block Party
08/23 – Los Angeles, CA @ FYF Fest
11/07-09 – Austin, TX @ Fun Fun Fun Fest

We caught up with the duo during Lollapalooza to discuss the new LP and their working relationship. Watch below.
