Without a band like Ramones, there very likely wouldn’t be a band like SKATERS. The New York City punk sound that the former helped originate in the ’70s has been adapted for a post-Strokes world by the latter. Fitting, then, that SKATERS decided to pay homage to their forefathers with a cover of “Judy Is A Punk” during a recent “Like A Version” session for Triple J Radio.

Dressed in matching red track jackets, the lads deliver an incredibly faithful rendition (just mixed noticeably cleaner), with the addition of an extra guitarist really helping to amplify the crunchy noise factor. Meanwhile, their group harmonies are buttery smooth, and Michael Ian Cummings’ lead vocals are the epitome of effortless.
