EMA releases politically-charged song “False Flag” — listen

Next week, Erika M. Anderson, aka EMA, will embark on a US tour with Spoon in continued support of her latest album, The Future’s Void. Before she hits the road, however, the singer-songwriter has unleashed a brand new song entitled “False Flag”. According to a tweet by EMA, the track’s “a lost generation take on 9/11.”

Dubbed “a punk demo version,” “False Flag” is steeped in grisly, piercing noise and features EMA harshly sounding off about her own political disillusionment:

so make them bleed
make them feel like i do
like we do
like you do
we all do
all the time

take all of the war and peace and nail
them to the wall

and then erect a false flag to justify it all
