GWAR decides not to kill Dave Grohl following his tribute to David Brockie

Looks like Dave Grohl successfully dodged two bullets yesterday. Not only did the Foo Fighters’ frontman emerge relatively unscathed from his brief feud with Jack White, but he also avoided death at the gruesome hands of GWAR.

In case you missed it, Foo Fighters performed a crowdsourced show in GWAR’s hometown of Richmond, VA on Wednesday night. During the show, Grohl took time to recognize GWAR frontman David Brockie, aka Oderus Urungus, who passed away late last year. He reminisced, “One of the greatest compliments I’ve gotten in my life … they asked Brockie about a Grammy nomination and he somehow made his way to me and said, ‘Dave Grohl has actually had teeth removed so he could fit more Grammy dicks in his mouth.’”

As it turns out, Grohl’s brief tribute may have ended up saving his own life. In a video message posted to YouTube, GWAR drummer JiZMak Da Gusha revealed, “I had every intention of going to Foo Fighters’ show to kill Dave Grohl, but he said something really nice about Oderus. I decided I’m going to spare his life this time.”
