According to TMZ, Kanye West was briefly hospitalized in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday after suffering an “intense migraine.” He was evaluated by doctors and released from the hospital in time to make it to his scheduled performance at the Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday evening.
Australia’s Woman’s Today described the scene as such:
The rapper was whisked to Melbourne’s Epworth Hospital in Richmond suffering a migraine. He was given an emergency MRI just after 2pm on Wednesday. The 37-year-old had one side of his face covered as he was rushed through the back entrance, surrounded by high security…
Doctors were concerned the artist had suffered a seizure or was about to and requested an urgent MRI.
It’s worth noting that TMZ disputes reports that Kanye had suffered a seizure.
No worse for the wear, Kanye’s concert later this evening spanned nearly two hours and 24 songs, including two separate performances of “Blood on the Leaves” and three of “Niggas in Paris”.
