This week, Karen O celebrated the release of her first solo album, Crush Songs. To mark the occasion, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman played an intimate show last night at the McKittrick Hotel in New York City.
In addition to new tracks off her latest LP, including highlights “Rapt” and “Day Go By”, Karen O pulled out a song from her archives: “Hideaway”, one of the tracks she penned for the soundtrack to Spike Jonze’s Where The Wild Things Are. Not only is her live rendition much longer than the original recording, clocking in at about eight minutes, but it feels 10x more blissful — especially as we see Karen O all aglow on stage like some mythical specter.
