Mark Lanegan Band has shared “Harvest Home”, one of the 10 tracks set to appear on the collective’s new studio album, Phantom Radio.
After exploring a new wave aesthetic on “Floor Of The Ocean”, the iconic alt rocker and his merry backing band return to more familiar, harder-edged territory. It’s not all pounding drums and layers of chunky guitars, though; a sweeping string section provides a nice sheen of grandiosity to the driving rock anthem. Meanwhile, Lanegan — whose voice sounds as though he’s been gargling hot asphalt every morning for a century — manages to keep the whole thing grounded, his gravelly croon nicely complementing the track’s soaring majesty.
