Singer-songwriter Phil Elverum, aka Mount Eerie, is currently in the midst of a month-long US tour during which he’s performing “extremely stripped-down” versions of tracks from his upcoming double album, Sauna. While in Ontario recently, he filmed a performance for the Pinball Sessions, which included the debut of a track called “Dragon”.
In its current “stripped-down” state, “Dragon” is a delicate and mournful folk ballad that takes cues from Nick Drake’s emotionality and Donovan’s more dramatic qualities.

Sauna will arrive in early 2015 via Elverum’s own P. W. Elverum & Sun. Recorded over the last 15 months in Anacortes, Washington, the double album deals with the themes of “Vikings and zen and real life,” according to a press release.
