Kendrick Lamar to release new single “i” on Tuesday, September 23rd

New music from Kendrick Lamar could arrive much sooner than expected, as the Compton rapper is rumored to be releasing a new single entitled “(i) (love myself)” on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Update: Kendrick has tweeted a photo of what appears to be the single’s official artwork. It suggests that the song may be simply be titled “i” as opposed to  “(i) (love myself)”.

According to Pulse Music, Interscope Records’ website PlayIGA prematurely leaked details of the single on its website. The single’s existence has also been reported by HipHop-N-More and video production company watchLOUD.

Representatives for Interscope Records did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.

If true, “(i) (love myself)” would mark the first single off Kendrick’s highly-anticipated sophomore album. According to a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the album is filled with “aggression and emotion,” along with production from Dr. Dre and Lamar’s Top Dawg Entertainment affiliates.
