In the wake of the Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal, the NFL pulled Rihanna’s musical opening to last week’s Thursday Night Football game between Rice’s ex-team Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers. The NFL explained the decision was to make time for a discussion on domestic abuse.

Critics argued the league was indirectly punishing Rihanna, who herself was a victim of domestic abuse, and the pop singer definitely seems to agree. In a pair of tweets posted early Tuesday morning, Rihanna blasted the NFL for pulling her intro and then having the “audacity” to “slide it back in this Thursday.”

Update: CBS and the NFL has abandoned plans to use “Run This Town” for Thursday Night Football. According to a statement, “Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our Thursday Night Football open. We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast.”

The intro was to feature a performance of Rihanna and Jay Z’s “Run This Town” with narration from actor Don Cheadle.
