The Rural Alberta Advantage share song “Runners In The Night” — listen

For their forthcoming third studio album, Mended With Gold, Canadian indie rockers The Rural Alberta Advantage are not just looking to confront their mistakes and flaws head on, but they’re also hoping to embrace them.

A press release explains the LP’s themes of healing and moving forward from a stained past, saying, “The breakage and repair of an object becomes part of its unique history and ultimately makes it more valuable instead of a blemish to disguise.”

The handful of tracks we’ve heard thus far, “Terrified”“On The Rocks” and now, “Runners In The Night”, embody this sense of coming to terms with something that’s not quite perfect. Here on “Runners”, frontman Nils Edenloff acknowledges a fractured relationship as he moans confessionary lines like “Our thoughts were crippled by desire” and “Our thoughts were wicked by design.”
