Earlier this year, Björk adapted her 2011 Biophilia album and its accompanying app into a full-length concert film called Björk: Biophilia Live. Now, enjoying a worldwide theatrical release, including a premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the documentary will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray on November 24th via One Little Indian. The film will also come with a live album.
Directed by Nick Fenton and Peter Strickland, Biophilia Live “chronicles the multidimensional concert centered on (Björk’s) eighth studio album,” according to a press release. In addition to animation sourced from the Biophilia apps, the film also makes use of “science and nature archive and found footage,” emphasizing the LP’s overarching themes of “musical structures and natural phenomena — atomic, cellular and cosmic.”
The DVD and Blu-Ray editions will be available in the following formats:
–Björk Biophilia Triple Pack (2x CD &DVD)
–Björk Biophilia Live Blu-Ray (2 xCD and Bluray)
–Björk Biophilia Live (Triple vinyl + DVD and MP3 coupon)
–Björk Biophilia Live Digital double pack (audio and video download)
Pre-orders are ongoing.
