After helming the role of Bruce Wayne for the latest Batman trilogy, Christian Bale is about to play another eccentric billionaire. According to Variety, the actor is nearing a deal to portray Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in the forthcoming biopic directed by Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire) and written by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, West Wing).
Sorkin previously revealed that Jobs will revolve around three significant events in Apple’s history: the launch of the Mac computer, the acquisition of software company NeXT, which enabled Jobs to return to Apple in 1996, and the introduction of the iPod.
Filming for Jobs is slated to begin next spring.
