Consequence of Sound is seeking motivated individuals with a strong background in film and editing for its video department. This department is responsible for filming interviews with musicians/artists both established and up-and-coming, as well as a variety of company-specific featurettes. Staff members also work alongside videography team to compile and edit footage into the finished product.
Overview of Responsibilities:
— Filming interviews and features across the city of Chicago.
— Editing assorted projects alongside staff and head of the videography department.
— Assist in any on-site, production-related set-up.
— Videographers are occasionally used as on-screen talent/interviewers.
— Help prep staff and/or interviewer for that day’s shoot.
— Carry equipment around to various shoots.
Requirements:
— Based locally in Chicago, IL.
— Have a college degree or working toward a degree related either to film, broadcast, and/or journalism.
— Videographers must own their own equipment (DSLR’s or better) or be able to rent.
— Editors must be proficient in Final Cut, Adobe Premiere, or both.
— Must be able to turn around content quickly and professionally.
— Flexibility is of the utmost importance. Shoots can happen any day and at any time. Candidates must be able to make themselves available at a moment’s notice if necessary.
It will help if you have:
— Existing relationships with publicists and/or representatives of bands and artists.
— Experience in shooting and editing similar, music-centric interviews and features.
