Today, California-based rock revivalists Foxygen release their fourth album …And Star Power. Among the highlights found on the bonkers 24-track double LP is “Coulda Been My Love”, a whimsical reimagining of the band’s ’60s and ’70s record collections. Featuring a soft rock-era ballad piano, lilting organs, and wailing guitar leads, the song still manages to sound relevant despite all its retro signifiers.
However, throwback musical references aren’t the focus of the song’s new corresponding clip. Directed by Grant Singer, who previously helmed the band’s visuals for “How Can You Really”, it’s a pretty video that highlights wiry frontman Sam France’s interesting wardrobe and magnetic mystique.
