Earlier this month, during their week-long residency on the Late Show With David Letterman, Foo Fighters teamed up with Heart to perform a rollicking rendition of “Kick It Out”. Now, the Wilson sisters have returned the favor, unveiling a stripped-down, yet lively cover of Foo Fighters’ In Your Honor highlight “No Way Back”.
“We wanted to give something back to them,” Ann Wilson told Rolling Stone of the cover, which was recorded backstage at a recent Texas show. “Just to say thank you. It’s the perfect HOOT song and worked well with the esoteric instruments we had around. It’s a classic ripper with good melodies, great lyrics and perfect for hair-flipping.” Nancy Wilson chimed in, saying, “I chose ‘No Way Back’ because it’s one of the Foos’ most kick-ass songs!”
