In what The xx’s record label calls a “poorly disguised fake,” a new commercial from fashion company Hugo Boss features a soundtrack eerily similar to the band’s song “Intro”.

The company’s “Master of Light” commercial has actually been airing since April, but only recently caught the attention of Young Turks Records, who recently tweeted: “@HugoBoss, as a firm built around original design, isn’t it odd that you’d pay for such a poorly disguised fake” along with a link to the commercial. Young Turks then retweeted several critical tweets from fans, including one which reads: “it’s not even trying for a disguise. Same key, bpm, proportions, melodies…wow.”

At the moment, it’s unclear whether The xx and/or Young Turks plan to take legal action against Hugo Boss. A representative for the band had no comment when reached by CoS earlier today.

Incidentally, another one of Young Turks’ artists, SOHN, recently accused Audi of using one of his songs without permission.
