On October 14th, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page will release his photographic autobiography (the first-ever book by a Zeppelin member, if you can believe it). To celebrate the book’s publication, Page will appear onstage at Los Angeles’ Ace Hotel for a conversation with a fellow rock ‘n’ roll titan, Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell.
On November 12th, Page and Cornell will discuss various pieces of memorabilia and never-before-seen images from Page’s private collection as they explore his upbringing in music “from 13-year-old choirboy to Sixties session musician, through The Yardbirds to Led Zeppelin and beyond.” The event goes down at 8:30 PM with tickets available through local retailers (including Amoeba Music and Book Soup) or online beginning Friday, October 10th.
Page’s self-titled autobiography compiles over 600 photos alongside passport stamps, tour schedules, working visas, and other memorabilia, all captioned by the legendary guitarist himself. The 512-page book seeks to be the authoritative historical document of Page’s life. “I wanted to make it as thorough as possible,” Page said in a press release, “so that meant trawling through all the thousands of files that photographers had taken, and pulling from my personal collection as well. There’s a photo of me playing the guitar by the fire at Bron-Yr-Aur cottage. It’s the most complete document that there’s ever going to be because of the amount of time that I’ve put into every aspect.”
