Neil Young shares video for “Who’s Gonna Stand Up” — watch

On November 4th, Neil Young will release his 35th studio album, Storytone, via Reprise Records. It’s effectively a double album: the first disc is a collection of solo songs, while the second features those very same tracks accompanied by a 92-piece orchestra and choir. Young has already shared our first taste of the orchestral side with “Who’s Gonna Stand Up”; today, he gives us a sneak peek into the recording process with the song’s accompanying video.

It is quite entertaining to see Young rocking a T-shirt and jeans as he’s backed by this ginormous, somewhat grandiose collective of highly-trained musicians. That and the fact that the gritty footage looks to be filmed entirely on VHS tape. Images of polluted landscapes are projected behind the orchestra, helping to drive home the song’s eco-centric message. Watch it below (via Rolling Stone).
