Twerps share new song “Back to You” — listen

In August, Australian indie rockers Twerps signed to Merge Records and released their Underlay EP, a collection of songs they hashed out earlier this summer. Now, the band has announced a new full-length. Entitled Range Anxiety, the album follows their 2011 self-titled debut and hits stores on January 27th. As a first taste, they’ve shared “Back To You”.

In an interview, lead singer and guitarist Marty Fawley said of the song, “To quote Neneh Cherry, ‘somedays are better than somedays’. This song and video show us one of those days.” Despite Fawley’s somewhat downcast lines (“Somebody out there is doin’ better than me”), the song’s jangly guitar riffs and breezy organs help evoke a more carefree exuberance. Every day can’t be picturesque, but Twerps try to not let the little imperfections faze them.
