Toy Story 4 will hit theaters in June 16th, 2017 under the direction of John Lasseter, Disney has confirmed.
Lasseter helmed Toy Story and Toy Story 2 before taking a backseat in an executive producer role for Toy Story 3. He currently serves as chief creative director at Pixar and also directed Cars and Cars 2.
Update: Parks and Rec star Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are writing the script, according to Slash Film. Additionally, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen have signed on to reprise their voice roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, respectively, according to Variety.
Toy Story is one of the highest grossing film franchises of all time, earning more than 1.9 billion worldwide.
