Whether manning the boards for Kanye West, FKA twigs, or his own stellar debut, Venezuelan producer Alejandro Ghersi, aka Arca, is at the forefront of a new kind of genre-bursting electronic music. Today, he applies his craft to a most unique cover song — Shakira’s 2005 hit single “Hips Don’t Lie”.
Ghersi has made the hip-shaking anthem all but unrecognizable, spinning the track into darker, more texturized territory with warped samples, glitchy percussion, and an undeniably creepy atmosphere. Listen in below (via Dazed).
