The Staves premiere new song “Steady”, produced by Justin Vernon — listen

HAIM isn’t the only sisterly trio making music headlines these days. Across the pond, British folk rock outfit The Staves are gearing up to release If I Was, their new album produced by Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon. Due out on February 2nd via Nonesuch/Atlantic Records, the 12-track LP is previewed today with a charming number entitled “Steady”.

Similar to last year’s Vernon-produced “Blood I Bled”, this latest song manages to communicate great emotional depth through its warm, layered instrumentation and lovely, lithe harmonies. It doesn’t seem to matter which side of the Atlantic you’re on — cozy, cabin-ready music is alive and well in both Wisconsin and England. Listen in below.
