Last month, Pete Doherty released “Flags of the Old Regime”, his new single which pays tribute to the late British powerhouse Amy Winehouse. Today, The Libertines co-frontman has shared its corresponding music video directed by Katia De Vidas.
Echoing the mournful tone of the song itself, the funereal black-and-white clip features a lonely Doherty singing right in front of the camera. His body barely budges, yet his facial expressions manage to capture feelings of intense pain, anguish, and despair. Watch below.
“Flags of the Old Regime” is officially out on March 9th, with all proceeds going to the Amy Winehouse foundation, a nonprofit that works to prevent drug and alcohol misuse among young people.
In related news, Doherty will soon be honored with a new statue, which depicts him as Christ crucified on the cross.
