Next month, Nashville garage rockers Turbo Fruits will release their fourth studio album, No Control. According to a press release, the follow-up to 2012’s Butter traces “a fraught relationship through the drinking, the cheating, the jealousy, the hangovers & recriminations and loneliness of the road.”
“No Reason To Stay”, the band’s latest LP cut, deftly captures the unnerving anxieties associated with a rocky relationship. Here, Turbo Fruits’ usual sweaty, punk-like intensity is dialed back, swapped for more quiet, ruminative musings. Much like No Control’s other mid-tempo rocker, “The Way I Want You”, it was produced by none other than The Black Keys’ own Patrick Carney. Listen in below.
No Control hits stores on April 20th via Melvin Records/Thirty Tigers. In support of the LP, Turbo Fruits have also scheduled a North American spring tour with dates alongside Surfer Blood and Eternal Summers.
