Van Morrison will release his 35th studio album, Duets: Re-Working the Catalogue, on March 24th through RCA Records. The album sees the beloved singer revisiting 16 songs from his extensive catalog, reimagining them with a score of guests by his side. We’ve already heard “Real Real Gone” featuring Michael Bublé, and now Morrison has revealed his collaboration with the late Bobby Womack, “Some Peace of Mind”.
The two legends inject the track with a bit more funk than it originally had as part of 1991’s Hymns to the Silence. Morrison sounds just like his younger self, while Womack provides a dash of soul with his quivering vocals. Check it out below.
Duets also sees Morrison singing with Joss Stone, Taj Mahal, P.J. Proby, and his own daughter Shana. “Irish Hearbeat” with Mark Knopfler is coming March 10th, while “Fire in the Belly” with Steve Winwood is out March 17th. Here’s the full tracklist:
