In the last three years, Tom Hardy played the villain in a huge superhero blockbuster; became the new face of a historic, decades-old action franchise; and spent the entirety of a film in his car. It’s not often that an incredible talent like Hardy comes along, and the list of challenges he’s willing to undertake has just added the difficult task of playing twins. In his new film Legend, Hardy is cast as Reginald and Ronald Kray, the twin brothers who were mainstays in the London mob scene in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Watch the trailer below.
Also starring in the film are Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Chazz Palminteri (The Usual Suspects). The film is written and directed by Brian Helgeland (Mystic River) and is due out October 2nd.
This isn’t the first British gangster Hardy has played, having starred in Guy Ritchie’s Rock’n’Rolla as well as a role in the BBC 2 series Peaky Blinders.
